Hi all I have a lovely Primus 96 and I would like a spare lipstick. Does anyone have a drawing with measures ? Has anyone tried to make one via CNC milling? Best regards Dorthe
@Dorthe B. Someone in Korea sells brass ones with a removable jet on eBay. I bought one a few years ago. Being brass it takes a double prime to get it hot enough to vaporise the fuel properly. Good luck in the search or manufacture! Cheers Nick
Hei . Fogas.se have complete burners which should be compatible . http://fogas.se/shop/2773---2001-brännare-till-100-svea-1809/ Not cheap though Held og lykke
We experimented with making six vapourisers but so many details are critical it was impossible to replicate by hand. Three of the six worked, one was a bit yellow tipped and two were scrap. The height from the jet hole to the burner plate has to be right. The jet hole has to be accurate, (obviously!) The jet hole has to be exactly vertical The thickness of the vapouriser has to be correct to properly transfer heat to the fuel inside. The taper on the tube has to be correct to get heat transfer from the burner head to the tube. The length of the tube has to be correct to get the right distance between the burner head and top of the pan leg The thread form is odd and slightly different for Pre WW2 Primus and Post WW2 Primus. It should be possible to get a N.O.S. vapouriser, take all the measurements then programme a CNC machine to make them but the commercial cost is astronomical.
Sorry to be a pain, but aren't those in stock at Fogas for the Primus No.100 and similar, larger in all respects than The No.96?
