I would suggest that you start without the rack/needle to check that the valve closes completely the graphite-packing around the spindle is tight run it for some time Once that is all verified, try to seat the rack as described in one of the links, e.g. here Installing Primus 8R Cleaning Needle In short, starting from shut (righthand close), check the amount of 'clicks' you need for your burner-spindle-needle combination to get it right (still closes shot on right, no obstruction on full and reasonable needle-poke through jet on left)
Thanks for the advice. I will start using the stove without the needle. And thanks a lot for the link to the "Regulated burner cutaway". That link was very helpful.
No, I provided a link to clear and concise instructions from the manufacturer, which if followed will result in success. In all kindness, you are dealing with a type of stove outside your experience and expertise and while I have given a lot of advice over the previous pages you are going to need to do some independent thinking to use and maintain this stove safely. I understand that there may be some language issues, and there are fundamental issues with searching CCS in that the component we are discussing is referred to by multiple names by different people, often differeing from the terms used by the manufacturer, i.e. 'needle', 'pricker', 'pricker rack', 'needle carrier' and likely other terms, which makes finding information more difficult. You are dealing with a pressure vessel containing flammable liquid next to a source of heat and ignition, yet you have clearly not read the instructions for your stove before lighting it. An internet search for 'Optimus 111 instructions' will bring up free to view original Optimus instructions, which incidentally also feature an exploded diagram showing which direction (the only physically possible way) the teeth face which would have answered your question, although why you are asking it is difficult to understand. Your view of the stove will look like this photo from this thread you can see there is only one place in the burner the needle can be inserted. All you have to do is ensure the teeth of the needle/pricker/pricker rack/needle carrier face the teeth of the control spindle.

I think he means being a subscriber. There are more pages available to subscribers. But, I am not sure that a subscription will help here. @Blackdog explained the situation vey well.
