Recently acquired this alcohol stove. No makers stamp or any lettering at all. It is a wicked burner with a similar mechanism to a Portuguese Tapiol I have. Similar wick holder but the flame control is superior on this one. The tank does not react to a magnet. I will be replacing the wick as it is only half it's original length but apart from that, everything works. Any ideas on identification? Thanks Ewen
Looking closer I found this on the base so I now know it is German. Does anyone recognise the makers stamp? I think it could be Gebrüder Bing and the stamp is a BW. I had to put the camera on macro to get a decent shot. I would presume that it is a production date of 1925-32 by that log. The black marks are ink, with a pound price on it but not very clear. I sourced this in Sweden If Ross could move this over to the German part of the Stove reference gallery and file it under Bing alcohol stove, it would be great.
