I posted earlier in the week stating that I had ordered a couple of new in box 111 kero roarer burners from Finn H in Norway. The package arrived today, an amazing 5 days later. Here are some pics, you'll have to excuse the image quality which doesn't do justice to this magnificent stove (crappy camera phone). Here's the four tube burner head up close: And what's this? Oh yeah, I ordered two of them. Here's the second, in its original unopened box (stamped "No. 111" on the other side. I think I'll stash this one away for awhile. Here's the pic Finn sent me originally. His photography skills are better than mine: So I now have: 111 (2) 111B (1) 111T (3) 111C (1) Excuse me while I go fire up my new stove. When the wife is home later tonight (she has a nice DSLR camera and the skill to use it) I will try to take some pics of it burning in the dark.
Wow! That is a great score Congrats! I only have a 111b so far,I really want to get one that will burn Kero.
Agree, there is just something about the simplicity and reliability of the kero 111 that endears this model to me. They just perform all the time on demand; to be honest, if I had to pick two stoves based just on performance and reliability, it would be the 111 and Primus No.5
Send Finn an email: fhjelmer@nokab.no He's a great guy to deal with. He has the 111 kero roarers new in the original box never opened from the 1950's. His prices are very reasonable. Shipping is a bit steep, but this is to be expected from half way around the world. I ordered it from him on Sunday, he shipped it Monday morning, and it arrived here today (Saturday) morning. That was just fantastic service. Also, there arethree available on eBay right now, two from different sellers in Sweden, one in the UK. It is not easy to find these in the USA, so if you are looking for a local deal it may be some time.
If anyone is interested ina group buy or splitling the shipping, I'm game. I told you that Kero bug is starting to bite. Tim
Really greate stoves. Could you please put out a picture of the tin seen from the top. Are there any labels or stamps on the tin? The picture may be lie a little about the color, what would you describe it as? Hammerite mid green? or??? Best wishes dsk
My camera definitely distorted the color. They are definitely green and not blue. Mid hammerlite green sounds close. There are no stickers on the inside or outside of the lid. There is a single stamp in the metal, on the lower right hand corner that says, No111. Here is the pic Finn sent of the top: I have seen other 111 kero burners that have the Optimus globe stamped in the lid and others that have a black instruction sticker inside the lid. I'm not sure if there's any sort of date logic around which stoves get the globe stamp. I have 3 111T's - 1 has the globe and 2 do not. Also, I just noticed that the cardboard boxes they came in have stamps on the bottom. This one says: E3 2469 The other one: 984671
You'll have to contact Finn. He offers two shipping methods: registered package and parcel post. I opted for the first and like I said it got here in 5 days. I bought a couple of Filipino bolo knives from California once and parcel post took over a month, so I avoid parcel post at all costs.
Time for a new phone perhaps ... Sony Ericsson K850i looks good (includes Sony cybershot 5MP camera) ... try your provider for an upgrade. All the pictures I posted here were taken with my new SE K810i (3MP) handheld, at night and without flash.
I have a T-Mobile MDA (aka HTC Wizard). 7 months left on my 2 year contract. I got it primarily for email (runs WM5) and connectivity (the darn thing has infrared, bluetooth, WIFI, GPRS/EDGE, and can be tethered to a laptop and used as a modem) primarily for work. It's a great phone overall, but the camera is poor. I'll definitely be looking at the next gen of phones when the contract is up. The pictures you took look great!
Thank you, I have one with circular globe sticker and one without both has No111 as yours stamped in the metal. The color seems to bee equal to hamerite mid green. I have had 2 used too, both in light blue scratchy tins, they were probably light blue, one is repainted black and one is now repainted light blue. I t seems like light blue is the orginal, and my guess is a swap during army maintainence, because one was labeled triple fuel. dsk
What a fantastic stoves you've there!! Very nice condtion of the stoves aswell! Great find!! Now, let see a picture when they're lited! Best Regards, Magnus
Mr Finn emailed me he has a whole bunch of 111S. Can I assume you guys used paypal to pay him to convert funds.
IIRC, I used paypal to send Norwegian Kroner... there's a handful of different currencies they will transfer !
