Hello everyone, I have the opportunity to purchase a Primus stove Aida no.1 with a silent burner, tomorrow morning.Although the stove apears to be in good condition, I'm curious as to why there isn't sufficient information available about Aida no.1 to help me understand why the previous owner replaced the original burner. It could be that they upgraded to a silent burner (Primus Sweden), which was common during a certain time, but I would really like to see the original part as well; however, the information seems scarce. I would appreciate any helpful information.
Just a little correction gentlemen, it is not a "Primus Stove Aida" , it is a "Aida stove with Primus burner installed".
There's an Aida #1 in the Stove Gallery, which has an original(?) silent burner. It's entirely possible that someone simply lost the original cap for this one and substituted the Primus equivalent. If that's the case, the underside of the burner will have "AIDA" stamped on near the edge.
Thank you. Is the Aida no.1 really that rare? I couldn't find anything online, except for the one you've kindly shared here in the forum. Or could it simply be a coincidence? All what I find are some Aida no.100
Accomplished some work today. Cleaned the pump, quickly fixed the NRV (initially attempted to replace it) and found that the spare parts I have, which typically fit Primus no.1, are smaller. Replaced the pump leather and the tank cap seal. It's worth mentioning that I soaked the inside of the tank in acetone and gave it a thorough wash today as well. The stove perfomed excellently; I anticipated some stubborn behavior from the burner, but that did not occur. The green Aurora lasted for a few minutes before the stove settled into a steady, well-controlled burn. Ive boiled over it a liter and a half of water to heat the system and condition it. Everything went smoothly. Some pictures are attached.
