I just picked this stove today and with the burner I thought it was for alcohol well I was pretty sure it was meant to run on alcohol but after three four or don’t remember how many tries it won’t run on alcohol and what I did was add gasoline to the fount and we got a flame a very nice blue flame. Tell me if this is meant to run on gasoline or not? I know the safeties for gasoline stoves and these doesn’t have all the safeties as Coleman’s
I cant see the burner very good, but if alcohol, has a three part burner cap arrangement. What I can see looks like the stove is a 45A, but not certain because of the poor photo. Duane
Do not run this stove on gasoline unless you’re either looking for trouble or you’re in an emergency that needs a stove. It does not have appropriate safety features for gasoline. 1. If it’s not running on alcohol, can you measure the jet in the nipple. For kerosene it should be 0.32mm diameter; for alcohol it should be much larger than that. Tony
Duane yes, I just get air his when preheated and when it gets cooler (burner) it start to spit alcohol and then it floods @Tony Press i just did. Look at the blue flame I cannot measure it but the orifice looks too small
@Pancho Do you still have the Optimus 111 or 11 stove? Check the jet in the nipple of either of those stoves and compare it to the jet of the 45. Are they about the same diameter? Tony
Try less pressure, if jet is too small, won't run. These are very different than gas or kero. I had trouble with mine years ago. Duane
A video in a bit. @Tony Press yes, I do. Looks like I have a kerosene nipple @hikerduane im trying your idea.
