PRIMUS 50 - 1926

    Today I'd like to show you this "lady" who's turning 100 but doesn't look it. It was originally red, but the paint melted when I cleaned the stove with degreaser. I'll repaint it the same color.

    Great stove!

    Interesting that it was red. I assume the red was aftermarket.

    The Primus No.50 (and its silent sibling, the No.53) came dull-nickel plated from the factory.

    "It seems the steel tank version was introduced in 1925, first with red paint. And the nickel plated version came in 1927/28. So mine is probably an early nickel plated version."

    I had obviously not recalled Håvard’s introduction of this fact.
