This alcohol stove nests together nicely. The original leather strap was rejuvenated with an application of Autoglym’s Leather Care Balm. Unpacking the stove… Comprising of: 2x pots, 1x lid/frying pan, alcohol burner + simmer ring, pot gripper, lower windshield, upper windshield/pot & frying pan support, leather strap. A new replacement sealing ring for the lid was fitted. Top lid stamping. Stamping on the pot gripper. Set up… Simmer ring fitted. Larger pot nests into the upper windshield Smaller pot. Top lid doubles as a frying pan. Top lid used as a pot lid. A 250ml Sigg fuel bottle fitted with a Trangia fuel pourer, works well with this stove. Size comparison with a Trangia alcohol burner. The burner size is however, almost identical. As would be expected, the Army Ranger alcohol burner using thicker gauge brass, is much more robust when compared with the commercial Trangia alcohol burner on the right. Rolling boil… Flame shots… Pharael.
Is the alcohol burner the same as the ones issued with the Swedish Army M40/44 <<Snussburk>>? Some were made by Trangia, some by Svea. I would imagine yours was made by Optimus, but to the same gov't contract, if it's the same.
@SveaSizzler The answer to your question is yes, and confirmed by the fact that I also have the Swedish Army Ranger ‘SVEA’ version of the alcohol burner, as shown in the following photos… The Government military contract did indeed go out to Trangia, SVEA and Optimus. Pharael.
