Greetings, All, Whilst scrolling around on Face Book today, I found several ads for a series of Meths stoves, being called different names in the different ads. Same photos and video for all of them. Interesting. Give this a peek and see what you think. - Doc Here's a cropped photo from their video:
Anybody else seeing these ads, or is the maker of these stoves a member here? I'm thinking that they are. What say you? - Doc PS - I think I've seen this ad here before: https://finesuper.com/pages/news-la...L_PsBje_16bhBm_uaY_aem_6u0SFznQ-3wKFrCMqhaDrg
I've seen this same ad and video with four different "companies", mentioned, and four different names! Something fishy going on, me thinks! - Doc
Does not look like you get any control over flame adjustment. Two speeds: OFF and HOT. I would be curious about the price. I'm guessing an Asiatic source.
Smells like dropshipping if you ask me. You can buy the same burner on AliExspress for 9 bucks. No contact info for the company. Did a reverse image search on the guy quoted on the top of the page, Ryan Cooper, no results. Would put my money elswhere. Vidar
From Doc’s link: I can’t load an iPhone screen shot But Price shown is $49.99 for 50ml $89.99 for 200ml very odd.
A similar stove design in aluminium has been available from China for a few years, under various 'brand' names and at various prices. It's frankly pointless- the value of outdoor meths stoves is that they are light and simple. This is heavy (pressure vessel), has one fine easily blocked jet, and no way to regulate the flame. Add to that the expensive and bulky fuel and you have a product which is great waste of the worlds resources. Anyone get the impression I won't be buying one...?
Slightly freaked out @Pharael, not by the accuracy of the ai likeness but that's also exactly what I'm currently wearing too.
