Primus No.50 (1938)

    The No.50 is the stablemate to the No.53 (silent) - with both having nickel-plated steel tanks.

    There is no doubting who the manufacturer is…:)

    A Primus No.210 reserve cap is my addition.

    In the following picture, a small portion of the ‘date stamp circle’ is just visible under the removable collar. The date stamp on a No.50 (and No.53) is always under this collar.

    …the original flame spreader (not present in the above picture) did however come with the stove.

    A solder repair to the steel tank’s underside was required prior to cleaning the tank back to bare metal, for nickel plating.

    @Sellig33 - Much appreciated, thank you.
    There was a good deal of rust in the tank which I had to originally deal with which had also perforated the tank bottom. I have no doubt that many No.50’s have been lost over the years because of the steel tanks corroding. Real shame.
