I recently acquired this awesome 6F from another enthusiast. He's more of a lantern guy than a stovie. All good. Both the Evendur and front Coleman decal have faded off but the original brown has patina'd nicely. The one thing i did notice that maybe the check valve and pressure valve have been updated. The 6F seems to have the flat pressure valve versus the hole in the cap. It holds pressure and fires up so I'm not going to worry too much about it. Great stove and will be used for certain. I'm making an E-tank for the cast iron burners and generator. Move any rust off and re-assemble.
Very nice. The CI barbell burner and strap legs my favorite. Have a 1938 412B the same minus butterfly cap and mine has steel tank. Perfect stove for a couple vintage no.6 CI skillets
VERY nice, congrats. A rare example, an excellent addition to our Reference Gallery. Thank you for posting it. It's a US made model 6F, early production (i mention cuz there is a CA-made 6F also (both rare)). FYI the 6F made in US, Witchita: "6F_US ...1934-36 Everdur tank (6B predecessor), 6F 17 1/4 x 11 1/4" among the smallest US 2 burners" [1934-36]: "Early production: Maroon brown... Late production: Forest green and the 6F made in CA, Toronto: "6F_CA .... 1936-37 Everdur tank" [green, different case] my source for above comments here but the ultimate credit goes to the good book noted in that post. @Hwheel72 i agree with you, it's "awesome" !! A Daryl favorite is high praise. A favorite of mine as well being bullet proof w/Everdur tank in small case. Scarce few Coleman suitcase models catch my attention, this is certainly one .
Thanks all, I appreciate it. It'll be fun to use for future campouts and such a great talking piece also. Eventually I may do a full restore on it, but for now, I'll get the burners etc. cleaned up.
