    Well said, Jeremy and thanks for the personal mention, which is wholly reciprocated.

    Isn't that the spirit of Newark though, it's a real 'run what you brung' event whether you take an impressive display of rarities, a single Tilley lamp to wander about with after dark, or just nothing but yourself with interest and enthusiasm. It all adds to a great event.

    I certainly enjoyed your display of cooksets and canteens although shamefully never got a chance to chat to you about them, but I enjoyed these photos of good food cooked on proper stoves in proper cookware! I also appreciated help with pegs, ropes and canvas after a long hot journey, and the light from your Veritas while I wrestled with my unruly lamps!

    @presscall , John,

    Huge thanks for sending the dates for next year's Newark Gathering! Now, we've blocked the time and, barring any unforeseen circumstances, we are definitely planning to be there! Since we'll be flying, we will probably be bringing a few cartridge stoves, and lanterns, and very little else. I'm guessing we can purchase fuel canisters once we get to the UK, and take them on the trains we will be taking. In any case, thank you, again, for the dates! Things are looking good! Take care, and God Bless!

    No matter small the displays, they're all items that have been saved, and being used for what they were designed for, so well worthy of display.
    Even though I can only come for the day, and miss all the light ups at night, I still enjoy seeing all the displays that everyone brings.
    I would also like to add my thanks to Ross @Spiritburner for all the hard work he does organising the meeting and the websites, which I know is most appreciated be all afficiandoes of the two websites.

    I'm happy to provide any short fall in gear, as a result of restrictions and or weight issues.
    Rest assured there will be plenty of stoves and lamps around that people will be happy for you use.
    We have a very inclusive camp and feed anyone who is around breakfast and evening meal Saturday, you're both invited.:lol:

    @redspeedster

    Good Day, Gary,

    Many thanks for your kind words, and your delicious offer of food. We will happily accept! It's funny, usually we lament the rapid passing of the years. But, the chance to see so many CCS friends at next year's Newark Gathering, has us wishing the year would pass faster!

    @snwcmpr , Very cool that you are considering attending Newark, too! That would be more fun than a barrel of Optimus #9 stoves! Well....maybe not quite THAT much fun, but you get my meaning! ;) :lol: :D/
