SotM (Stove of the Month) June 2026

    The theme for June is 'Stoves with integrated cooking support tins'. eg Primus 70/71L, Optimus 80, Radius No.42, Monitor Hi-Speed Picnic. Looking forward to seeing the entries!
    The rules
    Maximum of 2 pictures in the entry - one of which will be used for the vote. If your stove is listed in the Stove Reference Gallery a link can be added with your entry (not compulsory). Only one stove to be shown in the pictures.
    Stove must be presently owned by the member.
    One entry per member.
    Stoves that have won previously are excluded.

    This nominations post will be open until 30th June 2026. The post will be closed & the qualifying stoves placed in a blind poll for members to vote for. The poll will remain open for 10 days. Most votes is the winner.

    The winner will get a SotM Winner notation on their posts & profile & a £10 voucher code from The Fettlebox.

    I'll start with- possibly predictably- my well used and well loved Radius No.42. Not the best preserved but a user with real character!

    I found it with a lovely little wooden handled wire brush behind one of the accessory clips in the tin, which I haven't worked out the use for but it's a nice personal touch which will remain.

    Not in the reference gallery yet :oops: but it has appeared in this trip and it modelled its safety valve for the drawings in this thread.

    Optimus 80.
    Checked the washer, it still had some spring.
    Got a pricker out of my “little box of rust” as my wife calls it and gave the nipple a tickle.
    Still some fuel of some sort in there so I topped it up with some years old shellite.
    It did sputter and slowly got going burning yellow and green for a bit.
    Here it is
    Nothing special
    Just doing what it does.
