Hello, I am refurbishing an old 625. Unfortunately the cleaning needle is broken from part Nr A33. Have you an idea how to take the remainig piece of this needle out of A33 and replace it with a guitar string of adequate diameter ?? 20260625_094107.jpg

Assuming the wire is steel and the body brass, soaking in hot alum solution might get it out.

There is somebody selling these on ebay (from Korea iirc). Just pay attention to the variant: there is the 'old style' (conical shape, max diam. ~5 mm) and newer ones (cylindrical shape, max diam ~ 4mm). The new ones will not seal old burners.
Hard to say from your picture which one it is.

Other than that, the pricker wire is not absolutely essential, if using clean fuel the does not need to be cleaned that often.

Thank you very much my friend. In the meantime thanks to A.I. here is the explanation :

Since steel contains iron, it can be chemically dissolved without damaging the brass (an alloy of copper and zinc). This is the ideal method to avoid damaging the part. The product: Use alum sulfate (alum powder, available at pharmacies or hardware stores).
Preparation: Pour a glass of water into a small heat-resistant container (glass or stainless steel) and add two to three tablespoons of alum. The bath: Submerge part A33 in the solution and heat gently (simmering, not boiling vigorously). The process: The alum will literally "eat away" the steel wire within a few hours. The brass will remain intact. Rinse thoroughly with water once the hole is clear.

Every day I am estonished with the A.I. that I use a lot to help me in making videos
