Hi This is my first post. I found this stove in a dreary cellar in Montreal Canada when I was about 7 years old in 1980. I managed to keep and now I am restoring it. I have a feeling I am missing a piece but I am not sure. Here are some pictures. If I can get the tin for it that would be great. So far I have polished it up and cleared the jet and replaced the cork gasket. Next I will get some naptha and some brass nuts to swish around the fuel tank to clean it up. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate it. I did not find a date code on it but with chat gpt and classic camp stoves I think it is from about 1931. There is no needle valve, no pump, no recess by the fuel filler hole. The pick up tube or the tube that the jet screws into seems blocked. I did run the stove after cleaning the jet and it worked pretty well. I just wanted to make sure the tube was clear. So the question I have is should that tube be completely clear from the jet to the bottom of the fuel tank. I do not think there was a wick or anything like that. When I tried to carefully clean it out some small carbon looking deposits came out but it is still not clear. The people at Primus gave me this date chart.
Welcome @Darryl Thanks for posting. VERY nice! Congrats on score. I expect an early Primus 70/71 tin will not be easy to find. There are doable DIY options (also on CCS). That was nice of the "people at Primus" to provide you with the legendary CCS Primus date chart lol (and you're back... to CCS: The online resource for the camp stove collector and enthusiast). re your "I think it is from about 1931" taking a quick look, it ...could be... as late as 1930, so yeah. If you have a look at the link Bebo provided above, yours looks to be a match with: c1926 -to- 1929,30
I would not tear this down further in an attempt to “clear” the fuel path. Wick replacement can be tricky. Sounds like the stove is running fine. Duane
Hi Duane and OMC, I contacted the fogas people and ordered a couple of things (jet, jet cleaner a couple of wicks as it was fairly inexpensive. So after a bit reading, there is a wick inside the tube. You're right it is a bit scary to remove the tube. However I have access to the University machine shop here in Basel CH so I might just soak it in penetrating oil over the weekend and bring it to them and hopefully with a little Swiss magic they can remove it. The only thing I'm a bit nervous about is if the threads were soldered in. I iwll look into making the tin if I find the plans on CCS. Have a great weekend guys. Still nervous about trying to replace the wick. Below is a link that I hope will work, of me trying out the stove last night. Seems to burn fine with the orginal wick. IMG_8121.MOV
