Many years ago I doubled the effectiveness of the Giga Power stove with a heat exchanger pot The only jet boil item that I ever used
On a suggestion from @snwcmpr , I stuck the stove and canister in the freezer. Started very sluggish, flipped to inverted mode after a few seconds and it was off to the races. Obviously coming out of a -8F freezer and into 60F ambient is a very different experience from -8F continuously, but I was very impressed with how it did. My hands were freezing to the canister while I was connecting it to the stove, and condensation was freezing on the canister, but it still had enough pressure to run in liquid feed mode. Very impressed. I admit to having not really taken gassies seriously before.
@Marc As you use the stove the canister will continue to get colder and performance will suffer. Try boiling a few cups of water in succession and time them.
Yes, aware of that phenomenon. The inverted canister liquid feed mode seems to sidestep most of that. The stove was noticeably slowing down in just the few seconds I had it running with the canister right side up, once inverted it was fine. If I was ever actually in -8F, I'd have kerosene and the XGK you traded me.
