    Hi Alexander and all

The Seller is Mr. Finn Hjelmerud and is a member CCS. I think a lot of the CCS members have bought stoves from him, one way or another. He is a great guy and has a lot of stove/parts. :D :D
Actually he has helped me several times.

    Regards

    Hi All,
Well I got one of the stoves and it looks great.
I put some kero in it and fired it up.Worked great so on with the kettle! lol
BUT after about ten mins it suddenly started to roar!
I looked at it and instead of burning with a blue flame, it seemed to be burning INSIDE the top and the cap started to get VERY red.
I didnt let it carry on burning. Anyone any idea as to why?
I only pumped about ten pumps so dont think I over pumped. I am sure the stove is in good nick (seems well looked after).
It was outside and windy, could that be the cause?
    Alan

Classic "underburn" in a silent burner and quick shutoff is indeed the thing to do. You can burn right through the burner dome with underburn.

I don't have one of these box stoves with a silent, so my only experience is with the silent burners on the three-leggers. Here underburn can be a particular problem outside. Indeed, I have silent stoves that are workhorses indoors but can hardly be made to function outside. Again, these are the three-leggers. I have no experience with the "low lying" silent burners on stoves such as yours.

Hi Alan, You have a silent burner. Under no circumstances should you allow "Underburn", where the flame ingnites at the jet, rather than as flamelets on the burner head. If this happens, quickly release tank pressure until the flame is extinguished, re-tighten the air-release screw, pump a few strokes and ignite the kerosene fumes when they exit from the burner head.
If the problem persists try re-seating the burner caps as this sometimes helps.
These are good stoves and you have purchased from a very reputable seller. I am sure your problem can be fixed.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.
