I've got a WWII U.S. stove that needs a compression nut for the Jet clearing lever. Does anyone know where I can get one? Who deals with these stoves?

A 3/8 OD compression nut almost works, but the thread count is wrong. I believe it needs something like a 3/8 OD with a 27 thread count.

    Thanks!

Since these stoves have been out of production for more than 60 years it seems very unlikely you're going to be able to locate any spares.
Besides if someone has already attempted a repair with the wrong parts, it would seem to be a good posibility that BOTH the male and female threads are messed-up (or untrustworthy) at this time.
Other than trying to find a parts stove I don't see many options for you.

If you know of someone who's very good with a lathe you may be able to get a copy made.
Otherwise Bob is right ypou may need to get a stove for parts or get one in A1 condition and use the one you already have as a spares stove.

Are you sure it's 27 T.P.I.? 1/8" B.S.P. is 28 T.P.I. and although it's a U.S. stove IIRC the British Standard Pipe threads were an international standard at one time (1/8" refers to the pipe size, not the fitting).

The stove is in good shape. Its just missing the compression nut and the wrench that came with it. No crossed threads or anything.

I think I'm take it to a fitting shop and see what I can find. I'd hate to see this turned into a parts stove.

    Thanks for the replies!

    Morning, Harney,

I think I may have a solution for your problem. Once, I found a M1942 tank, which had part of it's burner still on it. I was going to use this stove for some project, or another, and never got around to it. If it's what you need, you can have it to fix up your own stove. I'm headed out of town this morning, but send me a PM and, if possible, a photo of the stove you have. If it's the same as the "parts stove" I have on hand, I'll send mine to you. The part of the burner that's on it, has both jam nuts in place. The rest of the stove, you can use as spares. No wrench, however. I'll get back to you when we return home. Hope that helps. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark
