Wow, did I get lucky! A BORDE BOMB for US $14.99!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5233629831&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1
Very nice, Bob. Where you been all this time - can't remember the last time we saw your name under a posting.
I've been having some health problems I'm sorry to say. But rest assured my interest in these wonderful classic burners has never stopped.
Morning, Bob, Congrats on your very good fortune!! Your Borde setup looks exactly like the one I bought many years ago, at a local Swap Meet, down in San Diego. Same box, and instructions, too. Great little stove. If you want a "Ranger" cook set for yours, check out such things in the "backpacking stoves" listings on Ebay. A Gent sells the basic Borde cook kit for around $10, though you will have to take files in hand to enlarge the stove hole, just a tad. No problem, though, and your stove will work perfectly in this kit. I got one and like it quite a lot. If you PM me your email address, I will send you a couple of photos of my own Borde, working away in it's cook kit!! Again, way to go on getting your little Borde, and for a STEAL of a price!! (I can see Evil, smacking his head against a wall because he didn't beat you to that one!!! ) Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
Nice hit Bob! Good to see you back. I hope that bargain leaves you feeling a bit better. All the best for a speedy recovery. Cheers Ross
Bear, you and I have crossed ebay paths in the past. I cannot believe that I didn't see that stove first. As envious as I am by the fact that you stole that stove, I am glad that it is going to someone that will truly appreciate it. By the way, I will double the price you paid! Rob
Just got lucky this time Rob. Several years ago I picked-up a new one of these on EBay. A person found a dozen or so in an old storage bldg. These ultimately sold for $100 - $180 a piece - I paid $117 for mine. That was the most I ever paid for a stove and I've never had the heart to use it. Now, at last, I have one to play with! All the best to you, Bob 'Bear1'
I've almost given up looking for a Borde Bomb as the prices are always just nuts. Then one day on ebay I bought a vintage Sigg Tourist Kit made specifically for the borde bomb stove. I wasn't certain what the kit was until it arrived and then had to break out some catalogs from the 1960's to figure it out. Now I'm back to needing the stove. Bob, you have renewed my faith in the ebay bargain. Best of luck with your health.
