Cleaning the tin - Warning!

    Picked uo another nice 210 (1939) complete in tin.

    I thought I'd give the tin a gentle clean by soaking in Fairy Liquid "(mild as ever"). I now have a rather unique CREAM 210 tin #-o. All trace of the original red has gone and there is not much left of the transfers.

    What the hell is in that stuff :shock: :evil: :oops:

    Did the same thing bought an old enamel companion kero stove last week thought i could clean in dishwasher to save time [clean off old grease and dirt etc] checked every few minutes and then one of the stickers were missing did not just peel off but totally dissolved. hand cleaning only from now on. Nice stove but no original sticker. how many people stuff up on there 1st few renovations. like to see some good stuff up's posted
