I am looking at buying an optimmus #2 stove and just wanted to know if you can still get the parts needed to complete it? Parts needed are a wind screen for burner head if this particular stove uses one. Second part is the brass ring that goes around the top of burner head. Is this ring the flame spreader? Thanks Eric.

yes the ring about the burner heat is called the flame ring easy to get from our sponsor Base Camp, or from A&H here in the States. go to the links and they are listed.

As to a wind screen, i rather fancy a simple tin can of appropriate size then cut down to fit just below the pot support. I use an old fashioned can opener (church key) to make holes in the sides of the can at the lower rim then fit it to the stove. i have done this for three of my stoves and find it works in every wind condition i have used the stove. Mind you, you can also get a proper windscreen from Base Camp.
