Just wanted to get some info about a 'Primus 100' brass pot take down type stove I ran into the other day. I don't see a lot of photos of this one around, is it uncommon? Also does anyone know the years of manufacturing or have other info? This one didn't come with the tin box which I imagine it should have originally. Do I have a keeper here? Ken in Canada. Thanks
, nope not talking to myself, just a couple more questions. I saw this 100 listed on ebay; http://cgi.ebay.ca/Primus-No-100-St...236538913QQcategoryZ87138QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem listed as a military stove, just wondering if anyone knows if the info is true, and which countries armies and decades or years? Thanks
This model was available for decades throughout the 20th century and was not primarily a military model. I thought the tongs were for flipping the bacon!
Lol, probably so he/she wouldn't get that smelly ol' kerosene on their hands... Thanks Franco, for directing me to that year chart, hadn't seen that. Just got the stove locally and am starting to check it out, looks kinda good shape though, no dings or dents and all the pieces there, no soldering repairs...have to fire it up yet though. I'll give a report and tell you how that went when I've got it done.
Lots of people think anything "outdoorsy" is military. I get the biggest kick out of Ebay descriptions. Some have little or no basis in reality. I would wager ther's an interesting book for someone to write delineating ebay descriptions and definitions. Gerry
