ok, just saw this stove, and claims from manufacturers/french magazines, complete with many graphs etc and tested against 33 other cookers. The design looks great, but I am sceptical. what do all youse think??? look at the magic flame from switzwerland. www.kuenzi.com
see whether you agree or not. :-k

Personally, I can see the value in something like that. For a thru hiker, etc it would in the long run be a lot lighter than any kind of stove/fuel combo. Taking that and a small iso stove would be ideal IMHO for someone trying to go 'fast and light'.

Not sure I'd buy one though,......and I didn't read very far down the marketing page for that very reason.

yeah, I liked the concept and design, but thought the claims were over the top. My Vargo Triad is smaller and lighter, but not thinner. Not being a scientist, the graphs didn't mean a lot to me, but I doubt that it works as well/better than most of the stoves pictured. I thought it would be fun to make a home made version rather than paying 65 euros for. Hell, it's easy enough to take a tin can and make hobo stoves as you go. Just my thoughts

Try this pattern if you would like to make your own. I think the same website will sell you titanium sheet to make it from!
    Cheers, Tom

I've a couple of small fold up wood burners, they are OK for what they are, just a water boiler, nothing special

A lot of mates make their own hobo stoves from things like cheap stainless steel cans you store tea or coffee in, get a round billy can that fits inside for storage and away you go. I prefer a real stove or a real open fire, to be honest, I can't be bothered messing about with the little woodies, must be my age or something

For me the woodburners are lighter in the long run, but arent as convenient. Here in teh pacific northwest it rains a lot so the liquid fuels are easier to light a lot of the time. To boil water with the hobo stoves takes longer but you dont have to carry anything but a chunk of firestarter and a lighter if you want, just matches if you are brave enough. I think its expensive for what it is, 100 usd dollars will buy a lot of soup.
