Hi, I spotted a SVEA 123 clone on eBay today, a Pak Cook 123. Does anyone know if they are much good, how do they compare with the 'genuine' thing? Cheers velo
Howdy, Pat Cook is a functional stove, and it does produce the similar level of fire output to the original. It is, however, made of a lesser quality, and the tuel tank is brass-plated steel, I am afraid. The wick is of a poorer quality, but the stove can boil the water just about the same as Svea 123. Parts are not interchangeable--the tolerance is different. I had an unused one, but the jet was drilled off side, so the flame was lopsided. I donated it to a local thrift store. For a knock-around stove, it was okay. I would recommend that you get a used 123 and clean it up. It would serve you well. bark2much
Hello, Cheap, mass produced knock off. Look around and get the real thing. You will be better off in the end. Chuck
I had one in the long ago as a companion to my 123. Piece of junk. Pay the price and get a real 123. You will never regret it. Gerry
Thank you all for your kind advice. I shall heed your wise words and go searching for a 'real' 123. Cheers velo.
