    Merci beaucoup, guys!

I generally use Coleman fuel when I can, although a couple of times I have purchased what's sold at Canadian Tire stores as an alternative, a naptha-based product from Imperial Oil Limited, Iosol. It apparently contains a 'rust inhibitor'.

Further to that, I must admit that when I got my first Coleman stove I went to the trouble of dutifully emptying the fuel tank at the end of a trip, but eventually inherent laziness won due to the pita factor. Not sure if I am perhaps too cavalier about that. I also read somewhere the suggestion that the tank be stored full as an alternative...

Coleman also has a rust inhibitor added, as well as a bit of dye.

I might not have lived long enough, but I haven't seen any rust in the fuel tank that I've forgotten about.

I don't actually know if Coleman fuel goes bad. I've had some that was at least 20 years old, looked, smelled good and lit right up !
Pump gas, on the other hand, seldom lasts more than a month or two...
