Unlike a lot of the earlier 8's in the gallery mine has the same filler cap & Peters & the same colour. The cap was on the later models so this may be a late transition. The patent number is on the front of the tin which Bryan Miller reckons points to a vintage no later than 1947, based on the fact the patent likely expired in 1947, 20 years after being granted & the theory Optimus stopped stamping the patent on the tin at that time. As the flat cap was in use in 1939 it could be reckoned this stove is from c1940 to 1947. I got this from Oxfam so I assume a UK owned history.
