i got a coleman stove,it looks like a 413-c but on mine the control knob for the left burner comes out the front not the side like the 413-c, it has the towel rack that flips over the back,it has a long round copper tank that says COLEMAN DURA? Someone painted the whole thing green, and put somekind of silver paint on the inside. do they have a model # stamped anywhere ? It works great, i could'nt pass it up for $4.00 what i really want to know is the year. thanks Mike
Hi Moike, if it's a Coleman the model number should be on the front face either between or to the left of the handle. The month and year should be on the tab hooks that attach the tank to the stove body. Coleman made unbadged stoves for various stores over the years, Eatons, Sears etc. and other companies made Coleman clones for the chain stores as well. I saw an Eatons store stove the other day that looked like a Coleman, same colors etc, but wasn't.
Ken: Mine is a coleman,it says so between the 2 burners there is a sticker between the handle BUT somebody painted over it,and i cant get if off to see what it says,i'll go look for the year on those tabs, that is the tabs that are on the tank right? thanks Mike
The tank is made of an alloy of 96% copper and 4%silicon called, as it says on the tank, "Everdur". "Everdur" is a trademark name for silicon bronze made and sold by Alaska Copper and Brass Co. It's most common use is screws and bolts used in boatbuilding as it is very strong and highly corrosion resistant. It's also quite expensive. Gerry
Moike; according to my coleman refrence books you have a stove which could be a Model #2, #3, #6, or a #9. These models were all made during the years 1926 to 1937. As you don't mention your stove having a built on oven, i'm guessing it is not a number 2 style. To really identfy the stove you need to see that lable. lance
