Does anyone ( and I'm sure somebody will!) know how the burner cap on a No2 stove is supposed to come off ? Thanks in advance - Mick ](*,)

    Hi Mick,
Ive just dismantled a No 2 for fettling, and the burner cap came off fairly easily. All i did was lever it off by wedging a broad screwdriver under the edge of the burner cap, then pushed down gently on the screwdriver while pulling the cap up at the same time. Work your way all round the edge of the cap doing this. Mine wasnt a twist fit or anything, just pushed on. Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Alan

 sorted - but it put up quite a fight ! couldn't get a screwdriver in and get leverage without bending the outer cup - still it's all bent back more or less into shape - thanks Alan :)

Just an after thought Mick, if you ever have to do it again it might be worth heating the cap up first, it may crack the joint and make it a bit easier to lever off.

They're buggers. I've got a couple of them and always have to soak for several days in WD40 before they'll budge. Even then I still seem to end up bending the skirt around the burner.
