Here's another Primus 535 of a later date.
The Nils Stephenson chronology isn't complete, so I can't date it, but burners are marked with only Optimus, Sweden.
Stove was probably only lit once. Now completely refurbished.
Brass tank is laquered on all 535's I've seen - wonder why they did that?

Came in tatty box, but maybe it can help dating

I'm guessing it's made in the 1960:s - maybe someone remember the lost files in the other topic?

The missing pics will be appearing shortly - they were in one of a handful of posts that got broken when we moved.

    Hi Hans

The stove is definitely Optimus production (which is more or less confirmed by the box). I can't say exactly why, but my feeling is that the date is in the 1970s.

The Primus 535 version made by Optimus is the one I'm missing so I'm pleased you added this one. What I would like to know though is if there is any difference during the Optimus period of production?

    Hello Nils!

So, am I right about the tank being gold/brass laquered on all 535:s? Maybe brass needed polishing if just clear laquered?

Did you also notice the optional brass outer cap?

It's not available in the 1972 Optimus catalogue here. Part No: 224S for the steel version.
In the 1971 Primus catalogue, the steel version is 4205, and the brass 4197.
The brass outer cap is much thicker/heavier than the steel one. Is there any advantage for any of them?

For how long did they have catalogues for both brands?

I can also add, that on my green army Optimus 535, the outer cap is marked both Primus and Optimus.

Circus Boy, it's a plug that can be used if one of the two burners has to be removed for some reason.
    Check this old thread !
