    Heya Nagant
I have one of those type risers that came with an Opti 45 of mine. My Opti came mounted in a Sea Swing for marine use. I don't know much more, but didn't want ya to feel alone.

I like mine FWIW (for what it's worth).

    Good luck on your Svea.

    Cheers,
    Gary

thanks Gary, mine came from a sea swing too. it was a buy it now ebay deal. i looked thru the catalogs and reference gallerys but no luck. maybe the part was used to hold the stove in the sea swing? i like the 45 too, especialy with the regulated burner. brice

Hi, could this fitting be an adaptor which would allow a "standard" riser tube for a 1.75 pint collapsible stove (such as an Op.45 or Op.48),
to be fitted to a Primus 100-type tank...using the outer threads, or Op 00 tank using the inner threads?

You might need to check that the legs were still of the correct length, but the height difference would not be too great.

It might have been an accessory provided with a Sea-swing, as I believe they dispensed with the use of stove legs.

    My thoughts.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Could be a lot to do with it - plus the stoves with Sea-Swings aare often seen with non-standard adjustable burners. Could the adj burner have come with the Sea-Swing with this adaptor to fit it to various suitable stoves where it would not normally fit or be at the right height otherwise?

that makes sense.if it works with the 121 tank i will switch it to the shorter riser to keep as short as posible. heres another pic, lower end. 1232193432-000_0020_opt.jpg

    Hi Brice
With a new day and some morning coffee I ran out to the "stove lab" and checked on my riser that's like yours. The big nut on the outside thread is just a nut. It'll thread off the riser completely.

The inside thread fits my 45 and also my Opti 00's and my Prisma 00. I don't have a Svea 121, but I'm guessing pretty sure that it'll fit on your Svea 121, too. :D/

The outside thread is smaller than a #100 tank thread and doesn't seem to fit any stove threads I have in my possession. Maybe it's there so the nut can spin down on something in the Sea Swing, or some Sea Swing accessory or something.

Look forward to seeing pics of the 121 and your solution when you get it done. I watched your auction when you bought it. It's a very lovely tank. Good luck on your fettle.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Looks to me like the nut is used to secure the gimbal to the riser on a sea swing as shown here ..

great Gary! i took it loose and its the same. they (riser) both thread on the 121 but the shorter 45 riser bottoms out before hitting the tank. the longer sea swing riser bottoms out on the tank so im not sure if it is seating the gasket. so im thinking short riser with 121 tank long on the 45. i'll have to make new legs for the opti 45 as the legs will be to short. i'll try to salvage those for the 121. they are just alumimium homemade jobs. and thanks for the link tritonofnor!
