Just not greasy! Here are a couple of pics of the 426B I found earlier this week. Turns out it has a tank which I think came from a 426D circa 1971. Tabs say D 71, I believe. Got one shot that you can see the flames on- All three burners were going, but I got my hand it the pic at the wrong time... After degreasing with oven cleaner I rinsed it with hot water. The colors in the flames may be a little water that got into the manifold. It's burning the fuel that came in the tank! Best, Randy

Well, dinner was already cooked from yesterday, so it's just a couple of ramen noodles for the wife and I, and for the test. :-) The suitcases are fairly easy to find. Try Craigslist Ridge. Where in OK are you? You just have to find the stuff listed near you. My natural father lived in "Altus" last I knew... (that's "Tulsa" spelled sideways you know...)

I'm in Ada, which is kinda south central/south eastern like. As with most places in Oklahoma, its a long way from anywhere. Hoping that the garage sale season this Spring will bear fruit. About 3 years ago (before I was interested in Coleman stuff) my elderly neighbor across the street had a garage sale with lots of great stuff. He set up his old canvas cabin tent and filled it up with all his vintage camping gear from the 1960's. If I remember, he had a Coleman 502 with the pot/case, a 413, and a 3-burner of some kind, maybe Sears? I guess the family kept growing, so he kept buying bigger stoves! And of course, a couple of old red Coleman lanterns, one of those funny dome shaped Coleman heaters, cots, fishing poles and reels, etc...It looked like some kind of period camping exhibit. Should have offered him $200 for the whole lot and moved it across the street to my garage, but I would have had to throw my own stuff out in the yard just to make it fit.

I LOVE our three burner Coleman(s). After using it to cook scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and hashbrowns (at the same time on a rectangle skillet over two burners) while coffee or something was on the third burner, I was hooked. We don't bring the two burners any more. Heck, we don't even need it, the tent trailer has a full range....which remains un-used, hahahaha.
cool stove. I saw an oven designed to go on top of those, but alas, it went out of my price range on trade me (NZ Ebay variant) I didnt realise you could get 3 burner coleman suitcases.
I lucked out with mine Found it at a flea market that I sell at,for $8 .It was full of fuel and all I did was pump it up and add the spark.I cooked on it for the weekend and sold the two burner that I brought to use.{only got $5 but only paid $3}That was a couple of years ago and now they seem to have disappeared from the flea markets.People may have realized how well they worked or maybe they just ran out of cheap deals.At that time I was trying to keep the collection down to only lanterns.I guess I blew that idea .No regrets for the choice but there never seems to be enough room to put them. Sounds like a great deal to me Lan-T!! We have a dream of going a bit primitive for real, (with water, electricity, and you can get the internet anywhere with electricity... cell phone broadband...) The rest is optional. A run down property in the mountains here for cheap is our goal. We might just cook on Coleman stoves for awhile!! ( awhile being long term ) That's why the next thing on my hunting list is a Coleman Oven. ( I hope to find an older one in good shape for a good price. ) So...Big ol' Colemans could be the primary cookers! Dreaming out loud again.... Best, Randy
Two words for finding coleman stoves....Yard Sales. They always seem to turn up, but ya gotta go to lots to find the "steals". I believe we got both of our 3 burner colemans for less than ten bucks. I've even got a Prentiss Wabers three burner if I'm not mistaken....somewhere, hahaha. Buried with some coleman 2 burners, P-W 2 burners, and well, you all know how that goes.and goes..
