I also considered useing a fancy hip flask as a tank you could not loose the lid with some of them a pewter one maybe but I liked the brass tea caddy
You could braze the nut onto the bottom of the tank to get the last bit of fuel and make it brake down for travel..

This monel wire is easily found online and has been used for years in marine environments as it will not corrode I found the wrapping at each end...

Soo happy with the nice flame after my new wick the last wick metal was rusted to bits .
Maybe having the lid off is not great as lighting is a little flared up ..I will try just removing the neoprene seal and useing stove with lid on ..

upon inspection I can see the tube is open all the way through I could remove the wadding in the future but pushing it out with a wooden kebab...
I decided to remove the wick and it's really rusted and in poor condition..do you think packing the tube after a good clean that is ..with origo...
