Whilst the stove is not very exciting the addition of the case turns into a very useful bit of cooking kit. There is no indication of who made the case but it was very well designed and well made. The stove feet fit onto pins in the base both for cooking and storage. The burner fits on a pin in the base when stored. The legs fit into Terry's clips when stored. The prickers fit onto a threaded stud with a knurled nut to hold them in place. The spanner fits behind the prickers and legs when stored. The top plate is a tight fit in the case. It took me a while to sort out how to unfold and fix the various panels together because some pins were used by different catches when the box was performing different functions. If the panels were not folded correctly the case could not become a carry case I never tried it in the field but the windshield arrangements were that versatile that I should think that they would have coped with any situation
what a wonderful bit of craftmanship.i would like to know the story behind that--made during lunch break or at home over many months??..i can see some guy making this a major project for what i'm sure was an expensive and much used item. it's sort of like Jeremys story,it gives just a peek into the past.
Hi Dave It was puzzling. On the underside of the stove tank there was a name and address in Coventry but the lettering was a bit childish and I suspect that someone had made the case for the stove owner who was probably quite young when they marked the stove bottom Regards Bryan
