Coleman people I have a coleman that looks like the 411 but that is a Coleman fuel stove. What I have is a kerosene stove, 2 burner, adjustable, with box, single tank, wire to clip the wings out (not rods like the 411) The burners fits up though the bottom. I can see Pioner on it and Coleman (sticker). What is the model number? Rough date? is it date stamped? or was it just called the Pioner. I searched the old forum but I could not find it there Thank you

Albert, can you tell us the colour and the colour of the tank? Also need to know the distance between the center of the burners (this will help to date the stove). You can check the bottom for a date Lance
Thanks for the responce and help. The tank is gold painted The tin box looks like army paint. This is a dark green but has a gold fleck in it. We call this Hamertone paint. The burners are 6 1/2 " (165 mm) apart there is no date on the stove that I can see. I tried to post this without logging on , useing my log on name. Silly computers it told me the user name has been taken.
G'day to you Albert. i believe that the stove number is an Aussie number. As you know, the different places where the Coleman products are made are reflected in the number. The same stove made in Canada as is made here in the US but they have different numbers. Okay now to your stove With that short of a burner spacing and the gold coloured tank paint my guess is your stove was made in the late 40's to early 60's. Clearly this is a "ruffing it" stove as most Coleman stoves have a wider spacing. The shortest spacing on any of my stoves is 9 inches. Modern Coleman parts should fit unless you have some strange thread numbers. Of coarse if they were made in AU then likely it would have whatever threads you have there. lance

Albert I already sent a message to Frank and I am asking my Canadian friends for info.I believe most of the Coleman that went to Australia was Canadian.The available information on Canadian stuff is only to be found in the heads of Ca.Collectors because the factory kept few records.The 411 you refered to is Canadian.A picture would be helpfull.You could send it to me or post it. I just got me a new fangled digital camera and I will be taking pictures of all my stuff to replace the 35mm stuff on my web site plus all the new stuff that is not on there.I still need to add the Handi name to my collection. I have sent an image to Ross to list it for me. After cleaning in the right place, and with a magnifying glass I found a model number 445. I am unsure of the first number but it must be a 4. There may be a letter or something after this for it is totally unreadable. Still no date stamp but the 60's is close enough for me. Has any one got a listing on this number ? I would be interested to know if it is Australian made or not. If it is it would be under the Canadian Licence I would think. Thanks for all the help to this point. Albert

Albert This may not be os any use but the only place Coleman US ever dated their stoves was on the bottom of the tabs that hold the tank to the body. I don't know if the sister factories did the same. If it is a native son I would really love to see a picture. Dan
There is no stamping on those tabs. I have them shinning like a new pin and nothing there Dan. The only place I can think of where the date was, is on one of the stickers. Both stickers are buggered. The best one is just readable and parts of it is missing. The other one would of been the instructions I can make out the word Kerosene by putting in some letters.
