Hi all, only just started "collecting" but I think i've found my perfect stove first time! I need some help with a small problem please but cause i'm new at this I don't know the correct terms and never had it in bits yet! Before I make a misake though i'd ask you guys(and poss girls?)first. Here goes-- I have an Enders 9065d double burner petrol stove, it has an "automatic" pricker system i.e when you turn the knob a pricker pops up to clean the jet and everybodys happy again. My problem is that on one burner the pricker does not pop up and down and the jet is now blocked cause the picker is in the up position. When I first got the stove the knob was very tight and the pricker just about worked but all of a sudden it went slack and you know the rest. The other burner is perfect, you can turn the knob round and round and the pricker pops up and down like it should. Any ideas? Tried to search the faq but don't really know what i'm looking for so any help would be just the ticket. Thanks

    Hi,
Let me get this right. When you said "automatic," does it mean that your stove has only one knob that controls both fuel flow and cleaning needle, as in Optimus 8R's method?

The picture that I have shows me otherwise--its burner assy. is similar to military 9061, and there are two knobs that control fuel flow and cleaning needle, respectively.

You can remove the hex nut/jet by turning counter clockwise and see if the needle can be picked out by your fingers. If that is the case, something broke inside, and I do not know what to tell you.

You can also observe the movement inside of the tube that holds the needle, while you turn the control knob. It might give you some idea.

If it cannot be picked out by fingers, then the following is the possibility:

In the burner of 9061, a key hold two sleeves together. If your 9065's arrangement is similar to that, a simple replacement of the key might solve your problem. It is also possible that the key is damaged, or the slot the key is sitting in has widened by torque.

I am sure there are folks who contribute to this forum who own the same model stove as you do. Maybe they could give you more definite answers.

I think you may have helped me there. The knob in question for the burner pulls off and then moves over to the "automatic" pricker.I say automatic cause it is built in as you say and not a little bit of wire on a stick! I do think it's the same as the 9061 set up. I can't pick the needle out with my fingers so I think you are spot on in saying I should use a key to remove it. Next problem is I have'nt got a key! Anybody got one I could buy or know where can get one please. Thanks for your help with this.

    Hello, mg,

A while ago there was a thread talking about how to make a key for 9061. I am too lazy to find it for you, and you may be able to search and find it. Someone suggested to cut a thin sliver off a piece of aluminum sheet, and then file it down to the correct size and then put it in the slot in which the key rides. But then again, it may pay to inspect carefully the portion where the spindle part and the control knob join. It might give you a better idea into what to do next.

Sorry, not having a specimen of your stove, I cannot give you any precise hint. On 9061, the knob that raises and lowers the cleaning needle is "L" shaped, and it works much like a section of an antenna that extends and retracts. Only the part that pulls out has a square groove, and is covered by a sleeve that keeps the key in place. The knob therefore slides in and out along the groove, retained by the sleeve. The torque is transferred by the tiny piece of key.

I think this setup of 9061 is slightly different from 9065D, but perhaps you could figure it out.

    Good luck.
