I have a Ginge that had a nasty tendency to underburn and the burner cab showed that the previous owner also experienced this problem.

I inserted a piece of brass foil inside the burner tube as it have 4 holes in it and my functioning silents dont. No worky, still a nasty tendensy to underburn at any chance given.

Then i studied the phenomen a little further and notised that the flame front hit the inner tube at a skew. Ahh, now were getting somewhere!

I made a steel rod with a 5,2mm hole in it so the fit over the jet is perfect. A simple centering later and no sign at all of underburn :D/

Excellent. But I need more details on this statement. What is simple for you, I suspect is likely to end in a broken burner for me.

Hi Henrik. Let me get this right, you used that tubing to gently lever the jet nipple to align it more accurately with the burner, yes?

John, I think that's what Henrik meant. Centering the jet collar (not the jet) so it will shoot straight and narrow ;) Although I would think the jet itself would have been affected since the collar is only 1mm in height.

@ itchy. I placed the steel rod over the jet and centered it in the center tube. It was off by a millimeter or so.

@ presscall. Yes, the jet was off by @1-3 degrees so i just manhandeled it into place.

Henrik, try and dream up a method for doing the same with a roarer burner.

I've got a few that seem to be off centre, but can see no way of centre.ing them

    That's easy Gordon ;)

Shorten to 15mm length and drill a hole through the side. I did 3,5mm and used a 3mm allen wrench as key.

    Hey henrik !

Well merging two threads with the same problem..
My Ginge underburn has been rectified after reading your adjustment idea.

Sadly i dont have a nice tool to apply the force to the jet area. I used thumb pressure to the top section and eyeballed it into space. a fire up and she was running just fine. So thanks for the idea. Good Pinser !!!
