Lilor Camping "363" Repliable (repliable = folding) is how this butane stove's named in the instructions that came with it.

Its 'folding' abilities are somewhat limited however ...

    1285704164-1.JPG 1285704172-2.JPG

... well that's about it as a 'folding' stove, and its a fair size too.

Here I've set it alongside a Svea 123 and one of the cheap imported butane cartridges I've used to replenish the Lilor's gas tank - three so far and with room for more

    1285704322-13.JPG

The jet nipple emerges from the pipework behind the enamelled heat shield ...

    1285704181-3.JPG 1285704188-4.JPG

... and the burner just hooks onto the slots in the shield

    1285704197-5.JPG

That spatter-finish green and cream enamelling is quite something!

Here's the other end of the tank and housing ...

    1285704205-6.JPG

... and the end with the control valve

    1285704226-7.JPG

Here's the gas tank separated from the heat shield, exposing the copper tubing feeding the gas from the control valve to the jet nipple

    1285704239-8.JPG

Some details of the control valve and the 'Lilor' name embossing on the tank and incorporated into the valve casting

    1285704254-9.JPG 1285704265-10.JPG

This is the screw cap to the refilling valve ...

    1285704295-11.JPG

... which is a spring-loaded ball bearing working in conjunction with a nitrile seal

    1285704310-12.JPG

It's an old stove, the instructions suggesting a Paris imprint of April 1954

    1285704515-20.JPG

Consequently, I made sure the seals were pliable and sound and though ready to replace any that weren't, was surprised to find that they all shaped up fine.

So, with that precaution taken I recharged the gas tank, opened up the control valve and lit the burner, which was a silent pattern with rather elegant vertical slots. The flame was very controllable and powerful on the highest setting

    1285704410-17.JPG 1285704434-18.JPG 1285704343-14.JPG 1285704371-15.JPG 1285704390-16.JPG

The original box, instructions and a supplementary flyer describing (as far as I can make out in my poor French) that holidays take on a new dimension with this stove and not to worry, there'll be agents throughout France (less hopeful abroad I expect) who'll recharge the gas tank for a nominal fee

I'll post the documentation in the CCS Stove Reference Library.

that's some impressive plumbing, tubes, valves and all.from the other posts on Gaz stoves it looks like in the 50's there were attempts to come up a Gaz stove that would replace the older kero burners and until the valve problem was solve none of those older models were accepted by campers and such.

That's quite a find, John. A most interesting stove, and in such good condition.

That stove is so quirky looking that I love it!!!

Rather a large tank for backpacking but great for a standing camp

    Great find and burns well.
