I'd already replaced a worn jet on this stove with a grafted-on burner tip salvaged from a Coleman lantern generator ...

Monitor riser tube and lipstick burner repair

... but having devised a method of silbrazing an insert in a vapouriser tube (lipstick burner), and of creating (not exactly drilling) a 0.23mm hole in brass sheet ...

Easy 'drilling' of 0.23mm jet holes

... I felt inclined to do a neater job of the Monitor burner repair.

Here's the lipstick burner tube with the Coleman jet tip removed ...

... and here is the jet insert prepared to fit the hole, with a tapered edge to create an undersized fit on the underside and an oversized fit on the upper side ...

... so that the insert 'sits' in the hole ready for silbrazing and doesn't fall through

Here's the jet insert silbrazed in position ...

... and cleaned up ready for use

    Yes, works fine.

Here's the burner after use, with what I'm used to seeing now - a tell-tale 'ghost' outline of the jet insert

Good evening Jhon as usual well done on a superb job even though the first method is brilliant the new method is far superior and as you say much neater and is the same as the original in fact it would have to be looked at very closely to see that it had been fettled .
A very good idea having a bevell on the insert stopping it falling through the burner when silbrazing and if a new insert is ever needed which is very unlikely it can be debrazed and a new insert fitted once again John conratulations on your superb work and this fettle has been added to my favourite topic well done there
