So I'm dicking around here, and decide my trusty 502 needs something--its OWN lighter!!!

It's the only grouse I have about the 502, getting a flame all the way down to the burner is a right bugger!

So, a little thought, a shot of two of Red Breast, with Guinness chasers, and here we are!

Used a small cabinet hinge, and with a very minor modification to clearance the spark head, it works GREAT!

Here it is, flipped up and extended down to the burner!

    Here's another view:

These two pictures show where the lighter is at rest, folded back out of heat's way!

The screw next to the lighter is a travel limit, sets the spark head at the optimum location for firing off.

Murph, you have a very smart appendage.

I'm going to have to do this little enhancement to my 502 users. Very nicely done!

    Here's the slight modification needed:

    1310843271-502X-3A.JPG

If you look up in the upper left, the red rectangle shows the pot rest as made.

Now, look to the right at the yellow rectangle. That shows the small piece of the rest cut off to allow passage of the flint lighter down to the burner. The metal is rather soft, and a good pair of side cutters will nick that off right well, and a file will clean up the burrs left.

    Have fun, mates!

    Murph,
Your a dadgum genius boy. Very inventive of you. Keep up the good ideas, so dummies like me can learn.
