A pretty common stove from Monitor. Comparing this with the earlier No:17 I have, the differences on my 17B are wider boss for air release on inside of filler cap & larger diameter pump tube. This takes the same cup as most 2 pint stoves. There is also no holder on the tank for the travel cap. This one has an extra lid for the spirit-can with built in spout. Don't know if it's original but it's a neat little accessory. The burner basket is the patented one with the slot to prevent it jamming on the burner tube. Patent Link
Hi Ross a beautifull example you have,even though these are common they are a realy good performer and a superbly made,i have three of these and not one of them the tin is in any where near as good condtion as yours,and i have not got the angled pouring spout for the spirit container. This post reminds me i need to sourch a travelling cap as one of mine i bought never had it
The slot on the burner basket, can also be found on what may have been the last variation of the High Speed Monitor. Occasionally you can also find, HSM tanks used on the 17B. Dont know whether HSM and 17B were running side by side, or the 17B using up old stock of the HSM.
A lovely stove Ross, I'm wondering if that split in the basket could could be introduced to a Primus 96. I'm sure I'm not alone in having some baskets that stick. Has anyone tried it? I'm being drawn to the hacksaw blade, but managing to resist, just in case.....
