What follows might well be regarded as total heresy by many. But there must be so many Primus No.10s out here which have lost there original big silent burners and are maybe relegated to 'sporting' a demeaning standard No.5 burner. Well here are 2 that I've tried to return to some level of respectability using the new Liberty make burners which are now available in equivalent sizes to the original 'big' burners. Result is 2 very useable stoves with plenty of power:

Yes they really are No.10s, here is the number and comparison with an ordinary No.5:

The 1947 'AL' has been given a Liberty No.2 size silent burner which looks pretty close to original (from a distance):

And the 1948 'AM' has the Liberty No.2 size roarer which suits quite well despite the fact that a 'roarer' variant never really existed:

That last one looks suitably fierce!

I have a Primus No2 which has a 'demeaning' No5 Companion burner fitted to it. Where do you buy these big burners?

No cries at all of 'heresy' from me. Great result.

Something I've overlooked, but your source for those burners is?

i did about the same thing using the large and small Liberty roaring burners.i have two silent burning stoves that under burned almost all the time.
one is from India,a big household stove and the other a Burmos that must have sat upside down in a shed for years.i put the Liberty's on with some fussing over thread size and a bit of church window soldering to get them to work.
no photos until spring when i can light them up outside.

RE sourcing of the burners I used here: the No.2 Liberty 'roarer' came from STUGA-CABAÑA in Germany (in the Links section of this forum), and the No.2 size silent burner is a recent addition to Mr. Relph's stock at Parafinalia in Derbyshire. On the thread compatibility issue there was no problem at all with either of these. It may be, however, that there are other reproduction sources which are not so accurately threaded.

Also be careful not to end up with the even larger (No.3) size which is also available in both silent and roarer forms and which will not fit a standard font (16mm diameter as opposed to normal 14mm dia base threading)!

Here is the No.10 with the Liberty No.2 roarer burner hard at work heating one of my wife's fleece cleaning and dying vats:
