Hi, here are some photos of those essential but often neglected items of stove operation: Filler/filter funnels: The Coghlan's is a fairly modern yellow plastic funnel, which contains a simple brass-gauze filter. It is marked "Made in Canada". The Coleman filter is a much older non-ferrous metal filler funnel. It is fitted with a two-stage filtration system. The first filter element is blue wool? fabric filter that looks as if it has been stolen from a pool table. The second stage filtration is provided by a conventional brass mesh filter element. The engraving on the Coleman filter reads: COLEMAN Filter Funnel No.0 LAMP & STOVE Co. LTD. TORONTO MADE IN CANADA Best Regards, Kerophile
Hi George, I wanted to pass along this advert I got with my 500 Speed Master. The "wool" filter is actually a chemically treated special filter as indicated here: Don't know how effective it would be as the gas would flow quickly across the filter and how much chemical reagent can they put on the filter. It would seem to to used up quick as it is a small filter pad ? Tom
