Courtesy of theyellowdog Made in Taiwan - the style of tin & box is very similar to those used by American Company Precision (Phoenix brand) - even down to the wording. Maybe this was the clone maker that supplied Precision? This stove is a clone of the Optimus 323/324
Interesting design with a lot of Coleman influence from the looks of it. I wonder how well the full circular generator / vaporizor tube does as the attempt by Coleman on the 501 didn't work out.
Hi, I no longer have this stove so can't test my theory but I always thought that the coil in the generator, over a depression, was there as a place to prime the stove for kerosene. Dan
hi Yellowdog Did you sell your stove to Wellington? If just picked one up in a shop here which seems to go ok but the instructions are missing. It seems to take a long time to prime though and if you put it on full too soon bad things happen when the fuel bowl fills with fuel and overflows
Hi Geeves I sold this to someone Wiaroa way. I know what you are talking about, I had the same experience but in-fact when you light it correctly you don't even need to prime it. You just hold a match over the burner as soon as you open it up. There is an art to it and then it becomes easy. If you need instructions look up the instructions for the optimus 323 and 324 rider. It is the same basic idea. The only problem with this stove for me was it burned the last 1/4 of the tank poorly. I have read that the optimus 323 had this same problem. It is a good stove, kind of wish I still had it. Dan
Thanks for that. When I said bad things happen I forgot to mention the stove was going. Once again I have no hair on my knuckles but the garage is still standing. Im going to have to get one of those stainless steel buckets that kerophile recommends for these situations
