This is my first Enders. I've been looking in the local market for several years, but have always been too late. When an offer came up on one of the sales portals, I didn't think twice and bought it for a decent price. Thanks for the tip @Piotrek. After buying it, I realized that the supports integrated into the burner, came from a different type. Enders 9061 D. Question The stove was heavily worn out and inoperative. This did not discourage me, as i like such challenges. I took everything apart and cleaned it. First, I painted the housing with Hammerite paint similar to the original and left it on the balcony to dry (3 weeks) Then, from a 6mm fireplace poker bought at a metal store, I reconstructed the front bracket. The original one was badly burned through. Then I made from 1mm sheet metal and a piece of rod, a slider that rides in the guide and holds the burner assembly in position. Then, using high heat, I unscrewed the tank and replaced the worn wick. I made a new one from good quality cotton yarn that my mother got from a friend in Norway a long time ago. Since the key for the cleaning needle was missing, I made myself a replacement, using a small watch key. I replaced all the seals and put the whole thing together. After checking for leaks, I did a combustion test. I riveted the parts disconnected for painting and put the whole thing together. P.s. Compliments of the highest order, to John @presscall and Jeff @Knight84 For the wonderful posts that gave me the courage for this venture. Thanks for watching. Greetings Stanisław
@Knee, first of all Stanislaw congratulations on scoring your first Enders, and congratulations on a superb and well documented fettle/restoration, the Hammerite paint finish looks fantastic, well done there Stanislaw
Thanks for the kind words @Pharael. Thanks to @mr optimus . I like this Enders. I was very impressed with the mechanism of folding and unfolding the stove. Also interesting are those integrated telescopic adjustment rods and cleaning needle lever.
@Knee Having bought an Enders, you may find yourself wanting another Enders model…I know I did. Really well made stoves IMO
@Knee Now thats what I call a real example of craftsmanship. I definitely tip my hat to you!!! I especially like the modification to have the burner slide in the track. That is ingenious. Even the attention to detail on the leg with the pot rest slot cuts, and the tool for the jet! I just drilled out an appropriate wrench to do the job, your tool looks like its supposed to go with the stove. Great job my friend....very great job!
Something is wrong with my memory. I still have this older version from a few years ago. Enders 9060 (4 supports) Which does not change the fact that when something comes into view (for example, a military model) I will probably be tempted . Thanks @Remus1956 . Here (CCS) I learned a lot of useful things.
@Knee Good job on rebuild. Good set of DIY hands and not afraid to use them. Does take a bit of heat to get to the wick. I really like how stable Theis's stove are. Enjoy your hard work.
It was beautifully restored. It's always nice to see a dilapidated stove brought back to life. It has an unusual shape, though. It has the characteristics of both the 9061D and 9060D, but doesn't feel out of place.
Great repair work @Knee, you must be pleased with the outcome. The flame pattern is very pretty, it's almost a shame to cover it with a pot! Being quick to set up and very stable, this looks like a good stove to use in snow, will we see some action photos this winter, I wonder?
@Daryl , @Tony Press , @Camp numao , @Blackdog , @Rangie . Thanks to everyone for the kind words and interesting comments. I allowed a little experiment, putting on a larger head from a BAT 45/2. It looks good, but requires longer pumping to maintain that burn.
Thanks Brian @mr optimus.! Just left to try the PT 1 head option. ..and I will not bore you any more. Greetings Stanislaw.
Hi @Knee Great job, that new front bracket had to be a tough task to make. I wonder if that new paint is fire resistant in case you spill some burning alcohol during preheating? all the best, Piotrek
