Here is my recently finished project Fuhrmeister No.8 which I swapped with @Skauvill. It arrived without a cleaning needle, and the control spindle could not be shut off completely. I tested it once and I was quite disappointed, because this stove was praised to be the "Rolls-Royce among the camping stoves" (at least for the price level), but the power was quite small. After 2 years I finally had time and interest to open it up and completely cleaned every single part. The needle base was out of shape, so it could not clog the pipeline, which is the reason of the left flame even I turned the control nob to the tightest position. At first, a couple of pictures of the stove after the fettle, I had the box powder coated, I did not search for the orginal color code, just used the one which was available by the time, kind of Bianchi turquoise. It showed great power output, comparable to the Heinze Stove from German Army. The control spindle was the most difficult part of the fettle, there is no screw, all one can do is pull it all the way out. Luckily there was a hole on the spindle, so I hung a key ring on it and used a plier to pull it. Even this hurt my hand quite badly. The case before and after the powder coating. The whole set before re-assembly. Reassembled. Simmering. Full blast. The original cleaning needle was missing, so I used hydrochloric acid to dissolve the remaining needle fragments. And then insert an accupuncture needle into the base and knocked it through the hole from the side, so the needle is kept in the place.
I remember when I maintained this stove. I think the needle assembly is the most important and difficult part of this stove. I commend you for repairing it until it worked properly. Congratulations on completing it!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes it was really hard to open the vaporizer structure to reach the needle base. I cursed the manufacture dozens of times for this complicated design From now on I should bring it more often to the outdoor activities, not because it is the most convenient stove to use, but to show off the effort I paid
Hi, yes, this is the 1:1 replica of the orginal heater cap. I read some complaint about the limited heating output of such cap (also the original ones) and I agree with it.
