The 9A contained a lot of information, and the instructions attached to the stove were dated October 1974. The sales receipt shows it was sold in Anchorage, Alaska, on July 7, 1975, for $33.50.
Wow - that's remarkable! $33.50 was expensive, relative to the ordinary camping and backpacking stoves on the market of the day. Couple questions I have, was the cup not included, or is it missing? And what was the "tin can lid" intended for? Maybe a flame spreader perhaps?
@Fettler Tin can lid is used when stewing food. It can effectively insulate heat, because it is not easy to reduce the fire power of the stove to a low level. The cup should have been included in the price; it's a pity it's missing.
Well that's what I'm wondering - was the cup included (the instructions seem to imply that) or an extra cost option? I see they had an MSR pot, too.
