Greetings folks from Ireland. So glad to be at last among kindred spirits who i am sure like me, have this strange and itchy yearning for oldie worldly camping stoves.
Just wondering if anyone here knows how i can get my hands on the wind shield and securing strap for the Optimus 99 design. And help, ideas and or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Regards for now LMcD.

Don't know if you are particular about the colors , Arno still makes straps with the same metal hardware . I have noticed over the years there were several different color straps on the 99 , The one I have is blue and white with a little yellow . Good luck

BTW just measured the 40 Year old strap on mine 18 mm x 520mm long . The buckle to match on Arno site would be the "standard " Type again good luck

I have a 99 (and an 8R), but prefer this eBay-sourced folding windshield:

Keep an eye on overheating of the tank with a windshield like that one.

    Several years ago.
I was in Seattle visiting a friend. I contacted you and we spoke briefly on the phone, but you were about to be taken to the hospital! (Under the circumstances, I'm not too surprised you don't remember.)

    I'm very glad you recovered!

Yes, now I recall. To the ICU with sepsis. Close call but it turned out ok…
