    Hi,
I bought this copy of Primus in a very worn condition with a thick layer of patina. I decided to clean it only to a degree that allows reading stamps. 1.JPG
Original status you can see on the side walls of the tank.

Well used indeed but this example seems to have survived major damage and repairs so often seen on long-servinf stoves. The end cap of the pump tube seems to have had a very neat repair of a new brass part soldered in place to reduce wear- it would be very interesting to see the reverse side.

Yes, indeed you're right. There is soldered-in element which reduces the size of the hole to the diameter of the rod. Moreover - there is a kind of felt pad on it ( for smearing ? )

Great old useable stove that might even be a little older than first suggested:-k The burner could well be original, and, if the filler cap is original too, the whole apparatus could be c.1898. It is the plain 'B.A.HJORTH' designation on the filler cap that is so interesting. This is because a change in the company structure led to the addition of 'AKT.BOL.' to the inscription on the filler cap in 1899. An interesting possibility. It all seems to have aged and worn at an even rate.

We can never be absolutely certain when relying on parts that can easily have been swapped around, but the earlier, c .1898, date is a real possibility and makes the stove even more interesting than usual.

That is a fine (reclaimed) example of a very old, well used stove.
Great work on your part and thank you for sharing.
