    Hi,

I've got my hands on a No. 45 in pretty good condition and fettled with it for a bit. But I guess it's a newer model, knowing it's quite difficult to date these stoves. If anyone has more insight, please let me know.

It did burn but with some restriction. 15 pump strokes after preheating seemed to much and the flame died sometimes. When it was on, it was only burning on two sides of the burner (not all four) and didn't look like the usual rocket engine. Maybe changing the nozzle would help...

I appreciate the fancy and a little bit excentric looks of the brassies but don't like the smelly petroleum.
So I think of reselling it.

    Cheers,
    Jake

The roarer burner that you show is marked “OPTIMUS PRIMUS”

Bryan Miller stated that: Non- Op.111 roarer burners made between 1962 and 1969 were marked Optimus Primus. Roarer burners made between 1969 and 1976 were marked Made in Sweden because Optimus then were making Optimus, Primus and Svea stoves so the burners could be used on any make without it being obvious that the same maker was making three stove brands.
So you have an Optimus stove made between 1962 and 1969.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    Hi Kerophile,

you've got a good eye for detail! Thanks for pointing that out.

I've been focusing on the filler cap and positioning for pinning it to a production time.

    Thank you,
    Jake
