I switched out a 4150 Roarer for a 4190 Silent on a Primus 41 last year (to do a trip up to Shetland), so I fitted it to a spare 4009 burner riser to add to the No.100 Burner options I mentioned the riser/burner permutations in my other thread HERE The 4150 Roarer exploded diagram is HERE in Snowgoose's excellent post. Anyway.... 4150 Burner on a 4009 Riser Assembly: Fitted to the No.100: Some Burner Photos: Test Run Lovely controllable burner from simmer to full blast: It's used quite often and isn't fazed by breezes outside with only a minimal windscreen Alec.
I've been wanting to do this exact thing, but have yet to source a riser tube. I gather from your earlier thread that you already had a spare on hand?
@GrantCee , yes I have a couple of spares not associated with a specific stove if you know what I mean. I've also made some by purchasing reserve caps and machining them/silver soldering risers into them Alec.
@Rangie — I hadn't even thought of that! I've been thinking about machining one from scratch, but cutting the fine internal threads is a job I don't look forward to. As a result, it's sitting there collecting dust while I procrastinate. Boring a reserve cap and brazing in a riser would be MUCH easier! Thanks for the idea!
Certainly produced an excellent result on the '100'. The 4150 is a superb burner. But not sure why you would be wanting to put a silent burner on to your Primus 41???
